trip with my son

My son and I recently took a trip to New Hampshire to visit my brothers. My husband lets just say decided to stay home (not going to even get into that). I tried to look at it as mommy and Jack's little adventure. It was a lovely trip with my parents and son. Even though I was exhausted, I had a moment today when Jack was being whiny and clingy, that I realized he has a lot of words that he says that only I can understand. Here are a few examples

beesy beesy pider = the itsy bitsy spider

money money money = merrily merrily merrily

bush a tee= brush my teeth

fruitin's = fruit snacks

roni = macaroni

To give a few examples I probably can't explain how cute it is when I realize what he is saying. I feel like a translater at times, but I would not want it any other way.

nook

Today I finally got some work done in my much neglected basement. My mother god bless her volunteered to help. I have a pile of stuff that I have been meaning to donate or dump. I separated them into different piles. Plus I Found good use to our old computer desk, and an old shelf.
I got the ironing board at a flea market in NH for 5$. It is very sturdy has a shelve under it and a separate holder for the iron.
After putting my son to bed I couldn't wait to go sew in my new nook. I was working on a purse when clunk. Sewing machine busted again. Tried to fix it to the best of my ability. Hopefully my mother will be able to fix it for me again.

god bless naptime

Another bag! It only takes an hour for me to make. I altered this one to make a square bottom, and used stiffer interfacing. It is amazing fabric. I keep saying that I am making it for someone but I want to keep them all. I don't usually go anywhere to showcase my purses, but they make me feel good.

hot beverages and sewing

Well all I wanted for mother's day was time to myself to sew. My wish granted, for 2 hours this afternoon I got to make a bag. I am in love with it. I didn't have a pattern but a tutorial that Julia sent me on a blog. I actually made 2 of them this afternoon. My mother fixed my machine and so far is working well. I am super excited that I don't have to work until thursday.

creation

I finished my first sewing project. I can't believe it. I actually had to hand stitch the handles on becuase my second sewing machine I think is broken. I am so excited, and sad that I have no more cloth to start a new project. I hope I can go on Monday to get something, I am thinking about placemats or something for the house.
